Partnering with A Community

It is our hope that as we begin to care for kids in the mission homes, the farmers in the fields, and the teachers in the classrooms, we will see communities in Lofa County and Dumbar Farm (and throughout all of Liberia) transformed. But we also long for transformation in our own communities!

Whether you partner with One Body One Hope or serve elsewhere, we are grateful for your passion and your willingness to be the hands and feet of Christ.

Children

The children of Christ Our Hope, Christ Our Hope North, and Abundant Life have daily, ongoing needs that can only be met through the generous support of our sponsors.

Your support provides for the daily needs of your sponsored child such as:

  • food

  • clothing

  • shelter

  • medical support

  • new initiatives

Young Adults

What happens when a young adult in one of our children's homes ages out of the system?

At One Body One Hope, we are committed to not just feeding and sheltering the kids in our care, but successfully launching them into the "real world." That's where our Sponsorship to Scholarship program comes in--and we are so excited about how God is moving through this new initiative!

We've been in ministry for fourteen years now, and over that time we've quite literally grown up alongside these amazing kids. It has been such a joy watching them learn and develop, and to celebrate the milestones of graduations, important birthdays, and new opportunities with them. We feel so blessed to help them pursue their dreams!

There are currently fourteen students who have graduated high school but are still living at Christ Our Hope as they continue their education. They include students in nursing school, education majors, trade school, and more. Six of our students are attending Monrovia Bible College and hope to continue to spread the good news through preaching, teaching, evangelism, and leading worship.

WANT TO GET INVOLVED?

The young adults at Christ Our Hope can only continue their educations with the help of donors. Many of our child sponsors have chosen to continue the sponsorship of their growing kids, but providing for a scholarship student is more than double the cost of a regular sponsorship. We're looking for more partners and friends to come on board and provide a life-giving scholarship for a high school graduate in our care. A one-time donation or a monthly scholarship contribution will help us support these young men and women as they prepare to launch into successful and meaningful careers all across Liberia.

Teachers

OBOH currently sponsors 17 dedicated teachers at the Christ Our Hope campus. In addition to providing a living wage for each teacher, we seek to meet curriculum and technology needs for the teachers and students. Our sponsorship fund also supports the broader Vine School System of Christ teachers through professional development opportunities available at our COH campus. Sponsorship supporters receive a monthly "Teacher Feature" via email to learn about and to pray for our teachers regularly.
